Fresno, California (KFSN) — When you’re behind the wheel, it may not seem like “the best time of the year.”
AAA estimates that nearly 113 million people travel more than 50 miles nationwide, and 7.2 million fly.
Air travel is not the only mode of transportation expected to resemble the pre-pandemic era.
About 102 million people are expected to drive cars.
So how do you avoid bumper-to-bumper traffic?
Travel analyst INRIX indicates that afternoon hours are the worst time to travel, with the exception of Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, when minimal traffic is expected.
Are you going out on Christmas Eve? Depart before 11:00.
AAA spokesperson Julian Paredes said:
Despite inflation driving up the cost of nearly everything and rising roller coaster gas prices, 2022 will be the third busiest year for holiday travel since the AAA began tracking it in 2000. , is expected to be the busiest year since 2019.
“What AAA has realized is that regardless of gas prices or inflation, people just want to stay home when they are on vacation. People will budget accordingly,” Paredes said.
The days to avoid, or at least put up with patience, are December 27th, December 28th, and January 2nd. These will be the days with the most cars on the streets.
