IMPD Officers describe the moments after finding Kason Thomass
“The first thing that came to my mind was to thank God I found Baby Cayson. He was fine and well and my first instinct was to hold him and put my arms around him. , we wanted to make sure he was okay,” said IMPD Sergeant Sean Anderson.

Sergeant Anderson told WRTV that this is a moment he will never forget.
“He could tell in that moment that he was at peace and joy. Despite the ordeal, he was getting through, and I could tell how well he was doing while he was away and hugging him.” It’s one of the best feelings of my career. It felt like I was holding one of my children,” said Sgt. Anderson.
Sergeant Richard Elle was the first to appear.
“I picked him up and hugged him… ‘You’re safe now, we’ve got you. We’ll take you back to your parents.’ , reminded me that my kids were little, etc. Please reunite with his family,” said the sergeant. El.
Kason’s family told WRTV that he was still in hospital awaiting discharge. The family is grateful to have spent Christmas with their two boys.
“I could never have imagined what Baby Cayson’s parents and grandparents have gone through in the last few days. We can be a part of it and bring him home safely and reunite him safely. The emotional roller coaster is truly amazing,” said Richard Elle.
