A wet week follows the Christmas holiday
Big changes are heading for us after the holidays.
Central Coast Saturday will be sunny and fun, and Christmas Sunday will be warm! Daytime highs will be comfortably in the late-to-mid 70s for most areas.
Holiday weather isn’t much to report, except for some fog in SLO County on Sunday night. Also, there will be windbreaks in the Santa Lucia Mountains in northern SLO County until 4am on Sunday. Northeast winds are 15 to 25 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph expected.
Monday is the time when things start to transition from the seaside weather we know and love to more in line with the current winter season. .
The main event is a rainstorm heading into Tuesday. A total of 1 to 3 inches of precipitation has been recorded on the Central Coast. Not all models agree on these numbers yet, but they seem to be approximate sums.
The system will be strongest on Tuesday, but rain is possible throughout New Year’s Day. The timing and summation of these systems are also still in question, but the chances of rain are very promising.
Regarding the temperature until next week, it is expected to be quite cool with the maximum temperature not exceeding 60 degrees.
At the moment it looks generally active from the 27th including January 1st. After that, the model suggests that the brisk pattern may collapse.
