Weather continues to impact holiday travel
Tracking services report that more than 5,700 flights have also been delayed. Major airports with the most cancellations include Denver International Airport, Harry Reed in Las Vegas, Midway in Chicago and Baltimore/Washington International in DC.
Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport had 29 cancellations by Monday afternoon.
Andy Wagner has canceled his flight from Chicago’s O’Hare. He’ll travel to Arizona to cheer on his Wisconsin Badgers at his Bowl on Guaranteed Rate on Tuesday night. He lives near Chicago and couldn’t find another flight, so he booked a flight from Milwaukee.
“I was ready to put it down and figure out what to do with the tickets for the game,” Wagner said.
Although he’s an alumnus, Wagner plans to root for his son, a trumpeter in the University of Wisconsin band.
Another Wisconsin sports fan was also in trouble at the airport. Kathy Kirkland has been visiting her family on her vacation and she hasn’t received her package since arriving on Sunday.
“We’re huge Packer fans,” Kirkland said. “Yesterday, this is what I was traveling with. All my clothes are still in my luggage, so I might be here in Baltimore, but now I’m up to date. cannot be retrieved.”
Kirkland says he waited in line for two hours on Sunday to get his bill.
“In the meantime, we’re going to make it through,” said Kirkland. “Maybe I’ll go get some clothes.”
She’s still wearing her Packers gear, but she’s grateful for the win against the Dolphins on Sunday. is.
Both say traveling on vacation is a crazy experience, but the results of being with family are worth it.
