Three chartered entries still need drivers for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, and two entries are currently unconfirmed.
Thirty-three full-time drivers have been confirmed for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, all of which are charter entries.
The three chartered entries require additional verification for the next 36 race campaign. Two of them have no confirmed drivers for any of the races on the schedule.
Let’s take a quick look at three of the charter entries that don’t have a fully confirmed driver line-up, although there are other part-time entries that don’t have a fully confirmed schedule.
Rick Ware Racing – No. 15 Ford
The No. 15 Ford is expected to be a rotation vehicle once again. The 2022 season saw six drivers at the wheel of the car, with JJ Yeley leading all of them in his 17 starts. Garrett Smithley and Joey Hand each competed in 6 races, David Reagan in 4, Ryan Preece in 2 and Parker Kligerman in 1.
Rick Ware Racing – No. 51 Ford
Cody Ware, son of team owner Rick Ware, drove the No. 51 Ford full-time for the 2022 season. As a result of Ware suffering his ankle injury in a crash at Texas Motor Speedway, he only missed the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval when Yeley replaced him.
