Tesla Fremont Factory pickup center is packed with cars amid EOY push
This year will be over in a few days. All signs point to Tesla pushing for deliveries through the end of the year. This was alluded to in the recent flyover of Tesla’s California-based electric vehicle production facility, the Fremont factory.
Tesla’s Fremont factory is no longer the company’s largest factory by volume and is now owned by Gigafactory Shanghai. Despite this, the Fremont factory is still one of Tesla’s most important facilities, and the only one to produce the entire S3XY line-up. In 2021, it was also considered America’s most productive auto plant.
That’s one reason it’s become almost tradition for the electric vehicle community to observe the Fremont factory during Tesla’s typical end-of-quarter deliveries. At least to some degree, it gives us a glimpse into Tesla’s activity and the company’s momentum at the end of the quarter.
With this in mind, the drone flyover that took place on Dec. 28 suggests that Tesla is working hard to produce and deliver as many vehicles as possible. Especially the customer delivery area of the factory is filled with vehicles ready to be handed over to their respective owners. For one thing, it suggests that the Fremont factory will be very busy through the end of the year.
The busy nature of the Fremont plant bodes well for Tesla’s fourth quarter vehicle deliveries. This was alluded to in a recent message from CEO Elon Musk, who thanked Tesla employees and enlisted the help of anyone who can help deliver as many vehicles as possible by the end of December.
“With so many cars arriving at the last minute, it is important that we rally hard and do everything we can to get the cars to the customers who ordered them by midnight on December 31st. For every incremental car we produce, delivery times are also important. Please help with deliveries as much as possible over the next few days.It will make a real difference!” Musk wrote.
