Marjorie Taylor Greene, Jamie Raskin share warm Twitter exchange following cancer diagnosis

Green, an avid MAGA supporter, and Ruskin, a member of the Jan. 6 committee and lead manager of President Donald Trump’s second impeachment, sparked a heated confrontation on the House floor in which Green accused Ruskin. However, despite their frequently controversial relationship, Green I often tweeted my wishes to her Democratic colleagues on Wednesday.
“We often disagree but my prayers are for Jamie Ruskin. Cancer is a horrible disease. It broke my heart to see my father die from it,” Green said. “It’s good that Senator Ruskin is hopeful and that the treatment he’s about to start will cure his cancer.”
Ruskin Retweet green messages He replied to her in his own tweet on Thursday.
“Marjorie, thank you for this inspiring message that your youngest daughter has shown you,” Ruskin said. “Thank you for your concern and I am so sorry to hear that you lost your father to cancer. Have a happy holiday with your loved ones.”
The 60-year-old MP announced in a statement Wednesday that he had been diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and was about to embark on a course of chemo-immunotherapy.
“For most people in my situation, the prognosis after four months of treatment is excellent,” Raskin said.
Raskin hopes to be able to work while receiving treatment, but doctors warn to “reduce unnecessary exposures to avoid COVID-19, flu and other viruses.”
Just days before his cancer diagnosis was announced, Ruskin was elected the Democratic leader of the House Oversight Committee.
Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., who chairs the committee and Ruskin’s Republican counterpart on the committee, also expressed optimism and words of encouragement following Ruskin’s diagnosis.
“Gunn is unlikely to beat a fighter like fellow ranking member Ruskin,” Comer said in a statement Wednesday. “We are all rooting for him as he and his team of doctors battle this disease. I am defeating you.”
