Union Square Has A New 10,000 Square Foot Food Hall

The number of food halls in New York City continues to grow.
On December 14th, Urbanspace Union Square, a 10,000-square-foot food hall with a sprawling backyard, opened in Zero Irving, just steps away from Union Square Park and Union Square’s transit hub.
Modern, airy and bright food hall features 13 food entrepreneurs ranging from iconic New York City restaurants to up-and-coming concepts, many growing with Urban Space brands . The Food Hall is located on his ground floor of Zero Irving’s new Zero Irving technology-centric mixed-use office building recently completed by RAL Development.
“If there’s one thing Union Square is known for, it’s great dining options, and we have over a dozen exciting new suppliers under one roof, including six first-time operators. and startups.This is sure to become the hottest new destination for locals, workers, residents and visitors alike to grab a bite to eat,” said Executive Director of Union Square Partnerships. Deputy Ed Janoff said. “Urban Space Union Square joins a long list of over 100 ground floor businesses that have decided to open Union Square on 14th Street in the past two years, positioning itself as a growing hub for creativity, technology, culture and employment. It furthers the role of the district and also serves as a great indicator that the region continues to recover and that more exponential growth is on the horizon.”

As part of Zero Irving’s commitment to the public good to New York City Economic Development Corporation, Urbanspace has set out to reserve 25% of its vendor spots for first-time entrepreneurs or startups less than four years old. Ultimately, about half of the vendors met the qualification, including Summer Salt (baja tacos and burritos), Twenty One Grains (gluten-free grain bowls), and Kid Brother Pizza (a market-oriented pizza by chef Michael Davis). This goal was greatly exceeded. Pita Yeero (Greek gyros and salads), Plant Junkie (plant-based comfort food), and Goat Cafe (specialty coffee and pastries).
All favorite local food brands like Bao Bai Kaya (bao buns and noodles), Bobwhite Counter (delicious fried chicken and sandwiches), Playa Bowls (fresh smoothies and juices), Waffles & Dinges (Belgian waffles) included in the vendor list. , top hop (craft beer and cocktail bar), Casa Toscana (Italian focaccia sandwiches), and GoFish (sushi box).

Urban Space President Eldon Scott said: “For example, this food hall sees a seasonal Union Square Holiday Market vendor transform into a full-time food hall vendor in the same neighborhood. Urbanspace Union Square is Urbanspace’s fifth New York City food hall. Earlier this year, Urbanspace opened his Urbanspace Pearl in the financial district and Urban Hawker, a Singapore-style hawker center in Midtown.
