Broncos interim head coach Jerry Rosberg is the latest to defend quarterback Russell Wilson in Denver amid criticism that Wilson is acting like he’s superior to the rest of the team.
Over the past 24 hours, several Broncos players have rushed to Wilson’s defense, with Rosberg joining in this afternoon.
“An alternative word? Shit. It’s a bunch of crap,” Rosberg said.
Rosberg said he doesn’t follow social media and was unaware of many of the comments, but was happy to see Wilson’s teammates stand up for him.
“I really appreciate them doing that,” Rosberg said. “I don’t live in that world, but people tell me things. I see Russell Wilson practicing here and I see what he does. So I really appreciate the people who do that.
Rosberg said the Broncos could silence criticism by playing against the Chiefs on Sunday.
“Our job as coaches, as teammates, if we really want to make a statement, we’re going to make it on Sunday,” Rosberg said. and give him the opportunity he deserves to show that he’s a great quarterback. It’s not worth it unless you play to it.”
