Here Are the Lego Cars We’re Excited for in 2023
Lego kicks off 2023 with a new batch of new car sets. As usual they look great. There are probably 100 new sets in every category, but there are only a few new cars each year, so take what you can get.
fast and furious Fans know that Paul Walker’s R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R 2 Fast 2 Rage You can put it on your home office desk. His Skyline LEGO in silver has the same blue stripes, the same blue wings, and even a nitrite tank in the passenger seat. It also comes with a minifigure of Walker’s character, Brian O’Connor. Hooking it up just to watch something during a resumed Zoom meeting.
Speaking of fantasies, does anyone fantasize about driving through Tuscany in a front-engined Ferrari with a V12 engine? to be budget friendly. The real 812 Competizione, powered by his naturally aspirated 6.5 liter V12, produces a staggering 819 horsepower and a funny, naughty noise. Having one of these on his desk makes him dream of warm, sunny, noisy days.
Following the V12 theme of over 800 horsepower is Pagani Utopia. Pagani released Utopia earlier this year as a follow-up to the totally crazy Huayra. The Utopia doesn’t look as wild (nor cute) as his previous car, but he’s still one of the most visually appealing cars on the planet. With only 99 made and each costing him $2.5 million, it’s safe to say that this Lego is the closest we’ve got to owning one.
Porsche will be entering the LMDh (Le Mans Daytona Hybrid) prototype class at Le Mans this year with the new Porsche 963. Le Mans has yet to start in his 2023, but that doesn’t mean the season can’t start a little earlier. In the Lego version of Porsche’s hybrid racer.
The McLaren 2-Pack also features one of history’s most iconic cars, the McLaren F1, and one of the brand’s most extreme track cars, the Solus GT. The former is his V12-powered Legend designed by Gordon Murray, and the latter is his V10-powered beast of a track only. That said, the duo is cool because it combines the best of McLaren’s past and present.
If you want a little more detail and a little more difficulty, some LEGO Technic cars will also be available in the new year. One of them is the 1,578 horsepower track-only monster Bugatti Bolide. Another is his 2022 Ford GT, a retro-designed mid-engined supercar. Both cars have moveable engine parts, highly detailed interiors, functional doors and steerable front wheels. Both sets are great for more advanced LEGO builders and are a lot of fun to build by yourself or with the family.
I’m a huge Lego fan and build at least 2-3 sets a month with my son. So these new sets for 2023 are exciting and I’m sure there are a myriad of both car and Lego fans like myself who are excited.
