The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to reports of injuries around 9:00 a.m. local time (12:00 p.m. ET) Sunday around the Mount Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.
Renner, 51, was the only person injured in the incident.
The Sheriff’s Office said it “worked with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for Jeremy Renner’s medical transport by medical plane to a local hospital.”
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Serious Accident Investigation Team said it was investigating the circumstances of the incident.
According to the Associated Press, Renner has a home in Nevada, but it wasn’t clear exactly where he was injured.
In 2015, the actor posted a photo of a snowmobile being used in the snow on Instagram. It wasn’t immediately clear if the vehicle was involved in Sunday’s incident.
Renner famously played Hawkeye as part of Marvel’s Avengers squad. He has also received his two Oscar nominations for his performances in ‘The Hurt Locker’ and ‘The Town’.
