In this list, we’ve taken into consideration things like weather, what events occur at your destination, and whether certain times of the year are considered high season or off season. All of these things are important because they can affect how expensive or cheap your vacation will be. is.

January: Aspen
Aspen, Colorado takes over our social media feeds just after Christmas, with our favorite celebrities and super influencers heading to the snowy mountains. Aspen is generally the more expensive town. This is mainly due to the ease with which private his jets can fly and the privacy afforded by the many luxury villas tucked away in the hills. If you don’t mind a little luxury, January is a great time to visit. Many of the hotels in the area have recently been renovated, but you can also rent a private villa like your favorite hotel.
While you’re there, consider taking a snowmobile tour, strap on your snowshoes, or take a scenic lift ride. Or, if you really want to live like a local, grab your skis or snowboards and spend the day shredding perfectly powdered snow. For downtime, check out luxury stores such as Dior and Louis He Vuitton in the downtown hallways. And in the evening, make a reservation at one of the many fine restaurants in the area.
February: Aruba
Ditch the winter for a few days with an island escape to Aruba. Not only can you melt the snow on the island’s white sandy beaches, but you can also learn more about the local culture. Carnival season at ‘One Happy Island’ runs from January to February 22nd, so you can join the festivities and watch the parade during your visit.
Outside of Carnival, you’ll want to head to the San Nicolas district, the island’s black and brown business and cultural hub. Make time to see the more than 100 wall murals in this area. Of course, no trip to Aruba would be complete without visiting Arikok National Park, seeing flamingos in the Renaissance and De Palm Islands, and taking a sunset wine cruise.
March: New Orleans
Yes, we know this is after Mardi Gras season, but that’s why March is the perfect time to visit. It would have escaped the crowds and potentially higher hotel and activity costs. Going at this time of year allows you to truly explore the Big Easy’s natural wonders. For a little luxury, check out Four Seasons New Orleans. The property is absolutely stunning and the cocktail bar has he one of the most gorgeous chandeliers you have ever seen. Hence the name Chandelier Bar.
Head beyond the hotel to the historic Treme district, full of black history and culture. You’ll also want to stop by the famous Dookie Chase restaurant and The Munk Factory in the Lower Gardens district. Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s favorite ‘little-known’ restaurant in New Orleans.
April: Costa Rica
Costa Rica is one of the best places to travel in April just for the weather. You’ll be at the end of the dry season, but you’ll also miss the crowds that flock there in March.
Spend a day chasing the waterfalls (literally) or, if you have time, spend a few days visiting Limon. The town has the highest concentration of Afro-Costa Ricans, who truly enjoy sharing their rich culture and traditions with travelers, especially those from the Diaspora.
May: Paris
The best time to enjoy Paris is when the temperatures are mild and the flowers are blooming. May is the best month to visit. It’s the height of spring in the city and it’s not very warm. You can spend the morning lazing on the sidewalk of a neighborhood café with a freshly baked croissant.
If you want to go to the Louvre, get there early as the lines get longer as the hours go on. May is also the perfect time to extend your visit to Champagne and tour the various Champagne houses and wineries. Oh, and your visit wouldn’t have happened without a photo of the Eiffel Tower at night.
June: St. Kitts
Grab your swimsuit and your favorite resort gear for June in St. Kitts. A highlight of the month is the annual St. Kitts Music Festival, featuring a wide variety of global and regional musicians. Past acts include Ashanti, Maxihis Priest, Rotimi and more. Many secondary activities are held in between. The 2023 event will take place June 22-24, 2023.
After the festival, spend time at Reggae Beach, where you can participate in water sports such as jet skiing. Zip lines through the jungle and eat your way around the island. We recommend starting at Carambola Beach Club, a black-woman-owned spot that’s a hip beach hangout by day and fine dining by night.
July: Portland, Oregon
Portland in July is the perfect escape from the unusual heatwaves of the past two years. Driving to the Willamette Valley, he can eat around town before heading out for the 45-minute drive. If you haven’t heard of it, he is one of the best wine regions in the country. Near the end of July, the International Pinot Noir Celebration takes place.

August: Disney World (Orlando)
Yes it gets very hot. There really is no way to get away from it. But EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival hopes to provide relief from the sweltering heat. For too long, people thought of Disney as nothing more than a family-friendly destination, but in recent years, the tide has turned.
More and more adult friend groups are choosing the most magical place on earth as their annual vacation spot. A large part of it is the annual culinary event. EPCOT allows you to literally eat and drink around the world, traveling from country to country and sampling world cuisines and spirits. And if you’re in the mood, you can take a ride and awaken your inner child.
September – Greece
Greece in September (or October) is perfect. The Greek Islands are nearing the end of the season. That means you might be able to snag a hotel deal this time of year. You’re just on the cusp of cool weather, so you can frolic on the beaches of Mykonos and even join the party.
Outside of Mykonos, it’s a great time to see Santorini, Crete and, honestly, the inhabited islands. . Some culinary favorites are tomato fritters, Greek salad, and saganaki (a staple made with fried cheese).
October: Kenya
It’s always a great time to visit our mother continent, but we recommend planning your trip to Kenya in October. This requires at least a full week in the country, so you have time to travel. For a hands-on glimpse into the culture and history of the East African nation, start in Nairobi. Check out the Nairobi National Museum and the cultural dance show at Bomas.
After a few days in Nairobi, take a short flight to Diani Beach in Mombasa. This is Kenya’s version of Zanzibar, or the Maldives. The small coastal town has the most beautiful water ever and the locals are so warm and friendly. Relax during the day and make the most of it. You can even see Maasai warriors strolling along the coast.
November: Saint Martin
If you are a foodie this is for you. The island of St. He-Martin on the French side of the Antilles has recently started hosting its Gastronomy Festival in November. For just over two weeks, you’ll be able to sample special curated menus from the island’s best chefs, as well as interactive cooking demos from international chefs, mixology competitions, and a massive barbecue event.
As with most islands, outside of food events, you can book a private yacht to explore some of the region’s best beaches and islands. Ferries to neighboring Antigua also run daily, so spend a day there and turn your trip into a he two-for-one. If you choose to stay on the French side, your best option is to rent a villa rather than a hotel.
December: Ghana
Social media proves why Ghana is one of the best places to travel next (if not the best) December. The West African country has always fascinated people from the diaspora, and the 2019 Year of Return campaign has ignited that fascination even further. The country is now exploding with tourists heading to Accra for its many activities, music events and festivals.
Activating global brands, partying until the early hours, and impactful tours of historic landmarks and attractions such as Labadi Beach, Black Star Square and Slave Castle on the Cape Coast.
