Pennsylvania police chief killed in shooting, suspected gunman killed

A Pennsylvania police chief was shot dead Monday, along with a suspect, sources told Fox News Digital.

Brackenridge Police Chief Justin McIntyre was killed and another officer from an unidentified police agency was injured, sources said. A wounded policeman was shot in the leg.

Authorities said they were looking for Duquesne’s Aaron Lamont Swann, 28, in connection with the shooting.

Authorities said he was armed and considered dangerous.

Pennsylvania officials on Monday released images of Aaron Swann, 28, who allegedly shot a police chief dead and injured another officer.

At 2 p.m., police found Swann, who had been wanted for probation violations, and pursued him on foot. At 4:15 p.m., Brackenridge police officers spotted Swann in his 800 block on Third Avenue, followed by another chase, Kearns said.

Two gunshots occurred several blocks apart during the chase, injuring two officers. McIntyre was hit in the head. The second officer was hospitalized in a stable condition.

After the shooting, Swann allegedly carjacked a car. Details of the shooting that killed him have not been released.
