‘RHOM’s Julia Lemigova reacts to Martina Navratilova’s cancer
‘Real Housewives of Miami’ star Julia Lemigova remains positive after wife Martina Navratilova was diagnosed with two types of cancer.
“Thank you to everyone who reached out to share their words of support,” Remigova, 50, wrote on Instagram Monday in a photo of herself, a retired tennis player, 66, and her dog. I wrote with
“Together, we will fight this♥️,” she added.
Some of the former model’s ‘RHOM’ castmates sent their love in the comments section of her post.
“We love you both and only positive thoughts😍❤️,” Gerdi Abreira wrote.
“❤️❤️,” added Larsa Pippen.
Navratilova announced Monday that she is battling both throat cancer and breast cancer. Treatment is scheduled to start next week.
“This double blow is serious but still fixable. I am hoping for a favorable outcome,” the 18-time Grand Slam singles champion said in a statement to the Women’s Tennis Association. I will fight with all my strength.”
Navratilova shared that she first noticed swollen lymph nodes in her neck while attending the 2022 WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas in November. A subsequent biopsy showed her to have stage 1 throat cancer, and further tests revealed stage 1 breast cancer.
The legendary athlete had breast cancer in 2010 and underwent a lumpectomy.
Navratilova told the WTA that her prognosis is still good, but she will not be able to participate in the 2023 Australian Open for Tennis Channel as originally planned.
Lemigova and Navratilova have been a couple since 2006. They got engaged at the US Open in September 2014 and married in December of the same year in New York City.
